Third-Party Test ReportsArticles Inside Job With indoor air pollution thought to be 5 to 10 times worse than outdoors, a global technology for removing pollutants from the air is being pioneered for indoor air pollution removal. American air pollution costs lives and is a symptom of industrial waste. With waste and inefficiency, we need more fuel. With more fuel needed worldwide, our nation, like others, is even more dependent on unfriendly or hostile governments.
If you live an average lifetime, you will walk about 100,000 miles. More important is the fact that if you live to be 70 years old, you will also breathe about 75 million gallons of air! It is the quality, or lack thereof, of this inhaled air that has much to do with your quality of life, especially when it comes to breathing; breathing tainted air has far-reaching health implications, perhaps leading all the way to the two leading causes of death in America (heart disease and cancer.) One of the most important purchases you can make is an air filtration system. IN MY WORK AND PERSONAL LIFE, I’ve done quite a lot of research on air filters. The amount of indoor air pollution we experience, coupled with the proven track record of quality-tested systems that I have reviewed, has convinced me that investing in a quality air filtration system is a wise choice. Clearly, purchasing the right system can make a big difference in protecting my health. I would consider an air filter to be critical to any building where I spend a great deal of time indoors. This nasty cough was diagnosed months ago as COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), and your doctor apprised you that it will worsen—all this, despite your healthy lifestyle. If you are an inquisitive person, you probably don't accept that you have a disease that may progress to pneumonia or may become fatal as you age. If that sounds like you, you are going to love this column! Not only that, but as you read this, there's an ever widening hole in the ozone layer letting harmful ultraviolet light down to the ground. Ozone, ozone, everywhere—what's a person to think? Is this molecule good, bad, or a little of both? And why do people use air purifiers that purposely emit ozone? Isn't that counterproductive? Let's face it, ozone is confusing. Yet it is important to understand ozone as it can both positively and negatively affect our lives... As the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia, explains it, air pollution occurs when there's “One or more chemicals, substances, or physical conditions (such as heat or noise) in high enough concentrations in the air to harm humans, other animals, vegetation or materials.” And in its 1997 National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) goes further... In fact, according to the American Diabetes Association, reducing low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL, or “bad” cholesterol) and triglycerides (the fatty acids found in the bloodstream), and raising high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL, or “good” cholesterol), should be the highest priority for type 2 diabetes sufferers with dyslipidemia. This motivated him to broaden HealthQuest's product line with a supplement he feels is particularly well suited to helping maintain the health of America's 18 million type 2 diabetes—and 41 million "prediabetes"—sufferers. Incredibly, between 40 and 50 million Americans now fight allergies, with 36 million affected by hay fever alone. Those massive numbers also mirror an alarming rise in childhood asthma, which has grown steadily over the last generation to now afflict 6.3 million kids. The Environmental Protection Agency now warns Americans that indoor air quality (IAQ) is one of the top environmental risks to public health. IAQ can be anywhere from two to five times worse than outdoor air pollution. And incredibly, the National Academy of Sciences estimates that 15 percent of Americans are even allergic to their own homes! The Pionair Air Treatment System with natural photoionization is recommended by New York Times best-selling author Jordan Rubin in his new book The Maker's Diet—and with good reason. According to researchers at the University of Florida's Solar Energy and Energy Conversion Laboratory who've developed a parallel technology, systems like the Pionair using photo-catalysis with titanium dioxide “will revolutionize our notions about the quality of indoor air.” After reviewing many different systems, we agree: The Pionair Air Treatment System is likely to be the best air treatment system you will ever purchase—and it's now available (or about to become available) at your local health food store or natural health center. A pond on the golf course situated behind the DeChene's home subsequently overflowed and filled their rooms with muddy water. Since it had been built all on one level, the entire single-family structure became a mess and required extensive cleaning. This unlucky couple, most especially Nadine DeChene, were traumatized and affected emotionally, mentally, financially, and physically... Published in Townsend Letter For Doctors & Patients, February/March 2004 Clearing the Air We are well into a new millennium, and there are many technologies (old and new) available for treating indoor air. Air purification is a natural way for water dealers to extend their current product line. It offers another opportunity to cross sell your existing customers and create new customers who have air quality concerns. It has been long known that indoor air pollution is a major problem as stated by the EPA and American Lung Association. Now, with the rising concern of mold in the indoor environment, consumers and insurance companies are looking for solutions. How does one go about deciding what technology is best for them? Let us look at some of the options and evaluate them... Published in Water Technology Magazine, May 2002 Relief for a Molding Problem While various states are beginning to fight mold battles as well as other fungi problems with insurance companies throughout the U.S., many cleaning and remediation companies are in search of a solution that offers relief to these severe problems. In a number of cases there simply needs to be a short term remedy while solutions to the larger problem are evaluated. Therefore, a long term remedy is needed to insure the problem does not resurface... Published in Cleaning & Maintenance Management Magazine, April 2002, and Clean Fax, May 2002 |
